蘇花公路是連接宜蘭蘇澳與花蓮的沿海公路，全長約 118 公里，沿途緊貼太平洋海岸，是台灣最壯觀的公路之一。其中清水斷崖段為精華路段，斷崖高度達 800–1,000 公尺，幾乎垂直入海，被列為台灣八景之一。

清水斷崖由片麻岩和大理岩構成，因板塊擠壓抬升而形成。站在觀景台上，碧藍海水與灰白山壁的對比令人震撼。天氣好時，海面呈現由淺到深的漸層藍色。

English Introduction

The Suhua Highway connects Su’ao (Yilan) to Hualien along 118 km of Pacific coastline, making it one of Taiwan’s most spectacular drives. The highlight is the Qingshui Cliffs section, where sheer cliffs rise 800 to 1,000 meters almost vertically from the ocean — listed among Taiwan’s Eight Scenic Wonders.

The cliffs are composed of gneiss and marble, pushed up by tectonic plate collision. On clear days, the contrast between the grey-white cliff face and the layered shades of blue ocean is breathtaking.
