姐妹潭位於阿里山森林遊樂區內，由大小兩座天然水潭組成。傳說兩位原住民姐妹同時愛上一位男子，無法割捨而雙雙投潭殉情，故名姐妹潭。姊潭較大，有木造涼亭佇立潭中；妹潭較小，隱於紅檜林間。

潭水清澈如鏡，倒映周圍紅檜與杉木，是阿里山最具詩意的景點之一。環潭步道約 15–20 分鐘可走完，沿途森林氛圍濃厚。

English Introduction

The Sister Ponds are two natural pools nestled within the Alishan Forest Recreation Area. Legend has it that two indigenous sisters fell in love with the same man and, unable to resolve their heartbreak, both threw themselves into the ponds. The larger “Elder Sister Pond” features a wooden pavilion in its center; the smaller “Younger Sister Pond” is hidden among red cypress trees.

The crystal-clear water mirrors the surrounding cypress and cedar trees, making it one of Alishan’s most poetic spots. A loop trail around both ponds takes about 15–20 minutes.
